LYNDHURST councillors and the local beat bobby have united to call for improvements to a "dangerous" junction on the A337 Romsey Road.
They agreed at a meeting of the parish council to demand further work to safeguard residential traffic emerging from Broughton Road on to the major route to the A31 trunk road and M27 motorway.
PC Steve Ennew said: "It is a dreadful and dangerous access which could do with improving."
Cllr George Bisson said: "There are lots of near misses there. Traffic travels fast along that stretch of road. Are they going to wait for an accident before something is done?"
Cllr Ted Gailor told the meeting that Highways engineers had only recently carried out work to improve sight lines at the Broughton Road junction.
"They cut hedges back so you can see up and down."
