A SHAKE-UP could be on the cards for voters in Hampshire in an effort to balance up the size of electoral wards.
The move could see more councillors brought in to ensure each resident is fairly represented on Hampshire County Council.
A review of the current wards has shown a significant imbalance in the way areas are divided up.
Worst affected are residents in Fareham's western wards whose county councillor Keith Estlin represents 98 per cent more electors than the county average. A draft set of recommendations has now been published by the Boundary Commission.
The main recommendation is that the council should be increased from 74 councillors to 78.
Hampshire County Council leader Ken Thornber said: "Demographic changes in recent years have seen an increase in the electorate in some areas of the county.
