ASTHMA sufferers in Southampton have received a generous donation from a local charity.
James Mayo set up his own branch of city-based organisation Asthma, Allergy and Inflammation Research Trust (AAIR) after his son Daniel died from an asthma attack aged just 19.
This week, the hotel manager from Blandford, Dorset, presented a cheque for £1,811 on behalf of DanAAIR to Southampton General Hospital to help fund research into asthma cures.
The money was raised at the annual Hall and Woodhouse Publican's Ball.
DanAAIR was set up after Daniel's death ten years ago and so far has raised around £15,000 to help keep free AAIR clinics in Southampton up and running.
