If you're aged eight to 20 and fancy treading the boards, writing a play or even starring in a film then Eastleigh Borough Youth theatre is the place to be.
On Wednesday evenings, seven to 12 year olds can meet from 5pm to 6.30pm at Hamble Memorial Hall, where they can devise their own play. Those aged 13 plus will meet from 6.30pm to 8pm and will get the chance to star in a stage production of The Lady of Shallot.
Thursday nights you have two choices of how to spend your time with EBYT. At the D@rt Centre, Hedge End from 4.30pm to 6pm, eight to ten year olds will be turning a song into a story to be performed. From 6pm to 7.30pm there will be an exciting multimedia project for 11 to 15 year olds, working towards a theatre show using film. You'll write a show, act and learn how to make a short film.
Or for a more traditional approach Bishopstoke Community Centre will be buzzing with activity as young people aged 12 and over learn lines for a summer show. The group meets from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Eastleigh Borough Youth Theatre is a friendly and fun way to learn about theatre, and at only £27 a term (£20 for Bishopstoke), is fantastic value. For more information call Christine or Gjenya on 023 8062 7806.
