Dawn Szmytki has lost her battle with motor neurone disease - before a medical extension to improve her quality of life could be completed.
Dawn, who was featured in the Andover Advertiser during her family's battle to secure the extension at their Roman Way home, died in hospital on Friday surrounded by her family.
She was admitted on 30 December and was inundated with visits from wellwishers, as well as cards and flowers.
Her husband Peter said the family will fulfil Dawn's wish for her tissue to be used to further medical research into the degenerative disease.
Dawn's funeral will take place on Tuesday at 12 30 at St Mary's Church, Andover.
It will be followed by private family cremation.
