CHILDREN visiting The Scott Centre in Andover are set to benefit from a £10,000 makeover.
With the help of an £8,000 grant from the Headley Foundation and Henry Smith Charities, the centre is to get a complete facelift inside and outside.
The Scott Centre, in Mead Hedges, is used every weekday afternoon by the after-school club, whose children are looking forward to seeing the improvements.
Centre manager Peter Elliott said: "These changes will benefit the users and the children at the after-school club, and will make our job easier. It's a pleasure to come in every day and see it being repainted bit by bit - we are really looking forward to seeing the finished article."
The children who use the centre will also be given the opportunity to play a part in the improvements - they will be invited to paint a colourful wall mural.
Some of the main improvements made to the centre will be extra storage units, exterior repainting and a replacement outside sign. The centre's quiet room will be furnished with more computers.
Parent Jan Blackwell has donated a fridge-freezer to the centre's kitchen, and the Andover Vineyard Church Group contributed a cooker and a dishwasher.
Work is due to be completed by April when the children's murals will be unveiled.
