TRANSPORT, congestion, pollution and health were the focus of the day at a special event in Southampton.
The Active Transport 2004 Roadshow took place at the Bargate and was organised by Southampton City Council on behalf of transport and health chiefs.
More than 20 exhibitors were on hand to offer advice and a range of activities for visitors, including free healthy food, a live jazz band and free fitness tests.
There was also the chance to try out unusual modes of transport such as a disability bicycle and an electric car.
The aim of this year's event was not only to address transport issues and the environment, but also to look at the importance of healthy living.
Co-ordinator Peter Bruskill, from Southampton City Council, said: "We have to change the way we look at travel and transport - that's the reality staring us all in the face every day."
