FOUNDER member of the Be Good Tanyas, Trish Klein, will be joined by Allison Russell and Diona Davies as the group Po' Girl visit The Anvil next month.
The group will skillfully revive the grit and spirit of old-time roots on Sunday, February 8, from 12.30pm in The Foyer.
Klein is a musician and songwriter with a distinctive style and has spent the last few years touring internationally with the Be Good Tanyas.
Russell is an impassioned performer, natural musician and gifted vocalist. Her rich, soulful singing, clarinet and acoustic guitar playing have won her audiences across the States.
Davies plays violin and piano as well as tuba, trombone and guitar. After two years of training at the Royal Conservatory in Victoria, she moved on from the classical focus and has played country, bluegrass, punk and klezmer.
This is sure to be a lunchtime full of jazz and country grooves through their beguiling, reworked traditional numbers.
Tickets are priced at £7, with food costing £5.25. A combined ticket, booked in advance, costs £11.25. Call The Anvil box office on 01256 844244, or use the website www.theanvil.org.uk
