SNOOKER legend Jimmy White and television commentator John Virgo came to Fareham to re-open the town's snooker club - three months after it was destroyed in a fire.
The pair unveiled the completely refurbished Fareham Snooker Club. It was forced to close after a fire ripped through the Broadcut Hall last October, causing extensive damage.
In just 80 days owners brother and sister Miki and Serena Sinanan have managed to get its doors open again - just in time for its 17th anniversary.
For a few lucky club members it was a dream come true as they were chosen for a game with Jimmy White - who took no time in beating them.
John Virgo showed off his trick shot skills and at the end of the evening did some comical impersonations of famous snooker players.
Serena said: "It was a brilliant night, the perfect way to open again up after the fire. They were signing autographs and everyone had a great time.
"Jimmy White was definitely their favourite player and he is even more so now."
It was thought an electrical fault in the kitchen was to blame for the fire that broke out in the early hours of October 16.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus battled to contain the fire under a collapsing roof.
The intense heat also caused water pipes to burst, flooding the business underneath the snooker club.
In all, the damage was estimated at about £1m.
