THE Sportinghouse Strings will be celebrating the life and repertoire of jazz star Tommy Burton at the Concorde Club, Eastleigh next week.
Burton's untimely death denied serious jazz fans the excitement of his world-class performances which had delighted audiences for more than 30 years.
As a tribute to their 'guv'nor', the band - Thomas 'Spats' Langham on banjo, Paul Degville on guitar and Richard Vernon on double bass - will explore Tommy's repertoire of styles and his musical legacy.
The three string musicians worked with Burton on numerous occasions.
Tickets for the show on January 21 are from £5.50. Box office: 023 8061 3989.
