PANTOMIME: There are still some tickets available for Dracula, in the village hall. Call 0118 915600 to reserve them.
The dates are January 23, 24, 30 and 31, with matines at 2.30pm on both Saturdays. Evening performances are from 7.30pm, and tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.
YOGA: For the young at heart, yoga starts in the hall on Wednesday, January 14, from 1.30pm to 3pm.
The cost is £25 for 10 classes and all you need to bring is a large towel. Mats will be available to purchase if you would like one.

PHOENIX Club: Some 30 members started off the year with a lunch at the Calleva Arms. Many thanks to Sharon and Steve for the warm welcome.
SWIMMING party: Names are coming in very well for this party at the pool followed by supper, on February 1, starting at 5.30pm.

AUCTION: Search out your cupboards and attics - the first auction of 2004 will be in the village hall on Saturday, February 7, starting at 10am.
VALENTINE disco with a '70s theme: I understand tickets are being booked already for February 14. E-mail association@ silchester.org for details.
PARISH church: The church held their all-age worship, especially for children, when the theme was The Wise Men. Stories of their travels were acted out.
Three kings duly sang and there was real frankincense and myrrh to look at and to smell. Only the gold was not real!
Now we have had to take down the flowers, trimmings and the beautiful tree, which were all very much admired.
Winchester visit: The cars are filling up fast for this special visit to Winchester Cathedral with lunch in the refectory and a special tour, followed by Evensong. Call Ralph on 0118 9700825 if you want to come along.
