CLASSES: You can still enrol for classes at the Village Club.
Flower Arranging will be on Mondays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, Tai Chi on Mondays from 10.45am to 11.45am and Spanish on Wednesdays from 2pm to 3pm.
If there are sufficient numbers, a course will be run on how computers work later in the month. This is very much about computers themselves rather than using them.
For details of these and all the other courses running at the Village Club, either pick up a brochure from the club entrance or call Josie Norton on 298059.
PLAY: Time to book your tickets for The Sixth Wife - the story of Catherine Parr, Henry VIII's last wife.
Alison Neil, who writes and performs these plays, is a brilliant historian. She produces a totally different picture of various women in history from their popular image.
To book for the performance at the Village Club on Saturday, January 24, call Josie Norton on 298059.
VILLAGE plan: If approved, the application to develop on the old chicken farm site could have a drastic effect on the planning boundary of the village. To find out more, you can see the plans at the parish office by appointment on 298634.
The parish council is now trying to encourage the development of a village plan for Kingsclere, which will say what we would like to see rather than having things imposed upon us.
This will be an ongoing activity throughout most of 2004 and will entail a lot of research and consultation. There are plenty of places for people with energy and enthusiasm who would like to make a difference.
The first event will be a workshop on Saturday, January 17, at the Village Club, from 10am, where you can drop in and ask questions - and input your ideas if you wish.
LITTER: I noticed, while driving to Basingstoke the other day, that the verges of the A339 have been cleared of litter between the town boundary and Pitt Hall and, of course, inside the town boundary.
LIGHTS: It seems you can contact the HCC street light faults department until you are blue in the face. Months after faults have been reported, no action has been taken.
