CHINEHAM Parish Council: The council meets again on Monday, January 12. Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting in the village hall committee room at 7.45pm.
You can also join it later on at 8pm for the public session, where members of the public can question the council on any parish-related issues they are concerned about.
For further information on any parish council matters, contact the parish clerk, Mrs Karen Ross on 474500, or e-mail clerk@chineham.gov.uk
Meeting agendas are posted on all parish notice boards, several days in advance.
REMINDER: The opening celebration service of the new Christ Church, Chineham, building will take place on Tuesday evening.
The Rev Richard Turnbull welcomes all to join the congregation with special guests, former Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey, and his wife Eileen.
If any groups or individuals are interested in finding out more about room hire, please feel free to contact Ruth Randall on 474280, or e-mail cchurch@surfaid.org
CHRIST Church's Fellowship Group: The next meeting is on Wednesday. All are welcome to join for coffee from 9.45am, with the meeting commencing at 10.15am with prayers, hymns and readings.
PROPOSED development: Amended plans have now been submitted for the proposed development off Stroud Close.
There is a good deal of local concern about the fact that the new plans show little change - especially in terms of density and height reduction - from those previously found wanting by the borough's development control committee.
The committee is set to take a view next Wednesday.
MOBILE library service: This service will be operating in Chineham on Thursday in the village hall car park at the usual time, from 4pm to 4.20pm.
SUNDAY classes: Pilates classes at the village hall restarted on Sunday.
With the new year here and, no doubt, some readers having resolutions along the lines of doing more exercise and getting healthier, this popular fitness programme might be something to consider.
Classes begin at 10am and are run by Julie Douglass, an OCR/UEL-qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor.
For further information, please call Julie on 07887 592729.
KEEP fit: Another worthwhile keep fit activity is "Time 2 Tone" with Sue Francis, which restarts this week at Four Lanes Community Centre on Thursdays between 8.15pm and 9.15pm.
Sue can be contacted on 01189 813175 or 07973 638554, or just turn up.
