Ben Calder had the toughest assignment of them all on Saturday when he had to mark former Dr Martens League hot-shot Michael Jackson in the Hampshire League Division 2 summit meeting between Netley Central Sports and Mottisfont.
But Calder came out on top, keeping Mottisfont's big new signing relatively quiet in a game which ended in a goalless draw.
In the end it was Mottisfont who had to grind it out defensively as Netley finished the stronger of the two sides, Scott Rice then Richard Croucher missing good chances to end Mottisfont's unbeaten record for the season.
Ordnance Survey can still have a say in the Division 2 title battle after an impressive 4-1 win at Ludgershall, where Jimmy Chalk (2), Ricky Fernandez and Kev Hayter were on target.
Survey have made what could be an important new signing with the former Bournemouth striker and Swanage and Blackfield boss Neil Prosser coming in as coach to his old managerial sidekick Tim Balch.
Two Simon Dea'th goals after the break gave Romsey Town the points at Durley in their first league game since November.
Premier Division leaders VT had to withstand a tremendous fightback from Ringwood Town before emerging 4-3 winners at Long Lane.

Andover New Street moved into second place after winning 3-1 at Petersfield but the issue was in the balance until the last ten minutes when Nick Turpin and Jay Mann added to Scott Tarrant's first-half strike.
Lymington Town hit back after a 1-1 draw against Bashley in midweek with a 6-1 spanking of division whipping boys Brading Town. Without playing at their best, Lymington sewed it up with four first half goals. Paul Sims and Adie Butler scored two apiece - Stuart Sims and Danny Adams got the others.
Karim Bansauda is back in the Poole Town attack after a three-month suspension and, after scoring in his return match against Ringwood in midweek, he was again on target in a 3-2 victory at East Cowes Vics. Matthew White and Boris Cornick also scored to give Poole a 3-0 interval lead but a disputed penalty put Vics back in the game just after the break. Their second was from a backpass which barely trickled past the Poole 'keeper.
Marc Jones scored twice to lever Locks Heath towards a 3-3 draw with Fawley at Warsash Road where the Waterside outfit twice lost the lead and ended up fighting among themselves.
