West Meon Players, West Meon Village Hall
THE village hall was a perfect setting for this entertaining production. This extremely funny, yet poignant comedy by Richard Harris looks at the ups and downs of a tap-dancing class.
The audience was treated to a wealth of excellent characters. Katie Jacobs was outstanding as Mavis and Maddy Edwards (Dorothy) made the most of her debut performance.
From the downtrodden Andy (Helena Gomm) to the neurotic Vera (Hazel Town), the whole cast showed good comic timing under the direction of Suzanne Hall.
The cameo appearance of the pantomime dame was rather over the top and interrupted the flow of the production.
Fortunately, this was followed by an excellent final number, when the class showed they really could dance.
Ends tonight.
