CHICKEN Shack first hit the charts in 1969 with I'd Rather Go Blind and, despite a few changes of line-up, they're still going strong.
And the one aspect of the band that has remained a constant is Stan Webb.
Stan's first instrument was a tea chest bass but he soon graduated to guitar, forming his first real band, Sounds of Blue, in 1964.
The first incarnation of Chicken Shack was formed in 1965 but, after going through several changes of line-up, was disbanded in the mid-70, only to be reformed later that decade.
Chicken Shack's albums have included The Creeper, Roadies Concerto, 39 Bars and Simply Live.
Stan Webb and Chicken Shack are popular live performers and their gig at The Brook will be a great opportunity to enjoy quality music and listen to the sound of experience.
Thursday. Tickets: £8. Box office: 023 8055 5366.
The Brook, Portswood, Southampton
