IF ONE of your New Year's Resolutions was to inject a bit more style and sophistication into your life, a trip to the Turner Sims Concert Hall tomorrow is a must.

Two of the country's top jazz performers, pianist Huw Warren and saxophonist John Surman will each be treating the audience to a unique solo set in an exciting double bill.

Huw Warren's previous appearances at the Turner Sims have seen him perform alongside longstanding collaborator June Tabor, as a quarter of the jazz group Perfect Houseplants and fronting his own band.

In 2001 Warren released his critically acclaimed solo album Infinite Riches in a Little Room, which received rave reviews in the music press.

World-class multi-instrumentalist John Surman is acknowledged as the most influential baritone saxophonist in jazz today. His combination of jazz music with English choral and folk music has been captivating audiences for the past 25 years.

Surman has recently announced that he is taking a break from live performance in March, so this concert therefore offers one of the last opportunities to experience his great talent for some time.

Tomorrow. Performance: 7.30pm. Tickets: £13. Box office 023 8059 5151.
