Leicester boss Micky Adams summed his side's uninspiring goalless draw with Saints by saying: "I'm glad I got in free!"

The rather drab encounter left former Saints star Adams, pictured left, unimpressed despite picking up a valuable away point which kept his side out of the bottom three.

He added: "I don't think there's a lot to say.

"We're pleased with a point but obviously the performance wasn't anywhere near what I want it to be.

"We've played a lot better than that and lost games, so I'm trying not to apologise too much for the state of the game.

"A point in our situation is good and we've got to keep picking them up when we can.

"Physiologically, it's always good being out of that bottom three but, when we were in it, we handled it well.

"Now the pressure is on the other teams that have gone in there - let's see how they cope with it, because it does cause extra pressure to get results.

"We're fourth bottom and that's not for the fact that we haven't scored goals - it's because we can't defend leads.

"But we're disappointed because we had two great chances when Antti Niemi made a great save from Muzzy and Sir Les should have scored.

"He'll be disappointed with not at least making the keeper work."

Transfer window singing Nikos Dabizas made his debut and shored up what has been a leaky Leicester defence and Adams obseverd: "That's his first Premiership start of the season, so I've got be delighted with him.

"It's coincided with a clean sheet as well, so hopefully he's a lucky omen for us.

"I think he'll be a lot better when he's got a few games under his belt."
