MAGICIAN Geoffrey Durham is bringing more than two hours of Little Miracles to The Corn Exchange on Saturday, January 24 at 7.45pm.
The whole show is performed by Durham, with no support act, no glamorous assistant - just sleight-of-hand tricks and great comedy banter.
He'll perform tricks from the stage and right under the noses of the audience, and one unsuspecting spectator will even have the chance to be levitated! Others will have their minds read, stand in an instant snowstorm or even perform a trick on their own.
Durham has been in the public eye for many years and will be a familiar face to fans of Countdown, Through the Keyhole and Call My Bluff, on which he's a regular panelist.
To those of us of a certain age, part of him will always be The Great Suprendo, who entertained on Crackerjack or The Russell Harty Show.
Durham hung up his Spanish alter ego in 1989 and has since been performing as a magician for all the family, rather than just kids.
His Newspaper Trick was ranked at number 31 in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Magic Tricks of all time.
In 2002, Durham was presented with The Maskelyne, The Magic Circle's highest accolade.
However, it was in 2003 that the Inner Magic Circle gave him his greatest honour when he was presented with The David Berglas Award, for his outstanding contribution to magic.
He toured with his previous one-man show, One Man's Intrepid Journey Up His Own Sleeve, for seven years but says that Little Miracles will be considerably different: "The first show was basically about me and my love of magic, but in my latest one I'm trying to be more versatile and it promises to be lot bigger and more exciting.
"It's probably the friendliest show you'll ever see."
Tickets, priced at £12, are available from the Corn Exchange box office, Newbury, on 01635 522733 or by logging on to www.cornexchangenew.com
