HALF a century of hits will be dusted off at The Mayflower next month with a visit from American soul group The Drifters.
The veteran singers call at the Southampton theatre on Friday, February 6 as part of their 50th anniversary tour.
The celebratory concert will see the acclaimed band (the longest-running singing group in pop history) performing such classics as Save the Last Dance for Me, Under the Boardwalk, Kissing in the Back Row of the Movies and Saturday Night at the Movies.
The Drifters have undergone several changes of personnel since their first UK hit, Dance With Me, in 1960, but remain a popular act. Last September they entertained crowds at the Rose Bowl in West End.
