YOUNGSTERS at Southampton's St Mark's School served tea and cake to former pupils and played bingo at a fundraising tea party.
The event was the first stage of the children's fundraising campaign to raise £300 to buy material to make new playground structures.
Pupils have designed a fitness trail - a sort of mini assault course - and teachers have challenged them to raise the funds needed to buy the materials by April. Parents and volunteers will then build the course.
Youngsters dreamt up the tea party as a way of raising money and invited former pupils along. The event raised £33.30.
Head teacher Anne Steel-Arnett said: "It's great fun and has been so successful we might hold it on a regular basis. The kids have had a fantastic time."
