MOURNERS are to gather to celebrate the life of a young woman who collapsed and died in a Southampton nightclub.
Psychology student Anna Greenwood had been dancing with friends at Jumpin' Jaks in the city's Leisureworld complex when she suddenly collapsed in the early hours of December 21.
Paramedics arrived at the scene within minutes but, despite their efforts, the 21-year-old died later at Southampton General Hospital.
The reason for Anna's collapse remains a mystery after a post-mortem examination and toxicology tests failed to determine the cause of death.
Detectives at Bitterne CID are now awaiting the results of further tests which are expected to take some weeks to complete.
Meanwhile, Anna's family have announced plans for a memorial service to celebrate her life.
All friends are invited to the celebration, which takes place at Lepe Country Park from 2pm on Friday.
Anna's father Jim, stepmother Judith and sister Jennifer have asked for mourners not to buy flowers but to make a donation to The Children's Society if they so wish.
Anna, a second-year student at Cardiff University, had been staying at the family home in Stanswood Road, near Fawley, for the Christmas break.
It is understood her family were at her bedside when she died in hospital.
Police have already ruled out any drugs involvement in her death which they have described as "very tragic".
