Gosport's narrow 1-0 victory at Downton was marred by Adam Canfield's late red card for the alleged use of foul and abusive language.
Assistant manager Gary Lee, who was away on an FA Vase spying mission on opponents Oadby Town with boss Mick Marsh, said: "It's very disappointing to hear about the sending off but we will be dealing with it."
The only goal of the game came on the hour mark when Stuart Hensman sprinted onto Darren Robson's pass to grab three more vital points.
