Harry Redknapp has threatened to name goalkeeping coach Alan Knight as a substitute for injury-hit Pompey's Premiership clash against Aston Villa tomorrow night.
Knight's in line for a shock bench appearance after Pompey suffered another injury blow.
Goalkeeper Harald Wapenaar picked up a back injury during the second half of the FA Cup win over Blackpool despite having very little to do after the break.
Substitute 'keeper Pavel Srnicek was not asked to replace him but Redknapp insisted that 44-year-old Knight, who last played for Pompey two years ago, may now be on the bench at Villa Park.
Redknapp, who is still without first choice Shaka Hislop, said: "We missed a lot of chances against Blackpool, we could have had five or six and I thought we were going to have to go up there for a replay.
"That is a day trip we can do without but the most important thing was that we didn't pick up any more injuries, which unfortunately we did.
"Now Harald is doubtful and I've got no other 'keeper to put on the bench at Villa except Alan Knight!"
Redknapp was hit by a triple whammy before kick-off when Patrik Berger, Linvoy Primus and Hayden Foxe all pulled out.
"I had to change the team three times between 10 am and 1pm," he added. "I got a phone call from the physio telling me that Patrik Berger had gone down with flu. Then, an hour later, I got another call telling me that Linvoy Primus had got a bug and that Hayden Foxe, who was going to play, couldn't because his ankle had gone like a balloon after getting a knock in training he day before.
"I had to go to the bootroom and found three kids. Anthony Pulis and Warren Hunt were both in there having a cup of tea and Shaun Cooper was having a meat pie!
"I told them that they were all on the bench but had to check with Shaun that he hadn't played in the FA Cup when he was on loan at Leyton Orient
"I didn't want him doing a Manny Omiyimni on me. It turns out that Shaun was just on the bench when Orient played in the FA Cup earlier this season but I asked him three times! I had to be sure because West Ham were kicked out of the League Cup when Manny didn't tell me that he had played in an earlier round for Gillingham a few years ago!"
