COLLECTORS at the annual New Year's Day swim off Stokes Bay in Gosport raised £945.22 for the charity that hosted the event.
Money for the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service is still to come in from madcap fundraisers who braved the chilly waters of the Solent but already almost £1,000 has been collected from donations on the day.
In all 92 swimmers representing 24 different charities took part in the New Year "dip" in the Solent. This year's water temperatures was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius.
