BASINGSTOKE Gymnastic Club held their annual Invitational Recreation Competition recently.
This competition was open to gymnasts that train between two and four hours a week and involved clubs from all over the southern region, with a total of 145 entries.
Basingstoke gymnasts had an excellent competition winning five age groups.
Adam Povey was the winner of the under-10 boys class with 24.70, with Matthew Smith winning the 13 plus section with a score of 27.20.
There were also three girl winners as Joanna Osborne won the under-eight class with a score of 24.30, Gemma Donaldson (27.00) won the under-12 section and Rebecca Lane (27.90) was triumphant at 13 plus.
Other results were as follows: Connor McKenzie was 10th overall in the under-six boys class with 20.85 and top scorer on the floor.
In the under-eight boys, Oliver Addis was second with 22.55 and Luis Nickless was fourth with 21.65. One place behind was Nicholas Woolmer on 21.45
Timothy Fisher was fourth in the under-10 section, scoring 23.25, while Daniel Lannigan was runner-up at under-12 with 24.00
In the under-eight girls, Victoria Lee was 13th with 22.60.
In the under-10 section, Becky Ellis was second (25.10), Lyndsey Randall sixth, (24.45), Molly Aldridge 12th, (24.10), Lisa Hayward 14th, (24.05), Grace Bonner 19th (23.85) and Anne Comley 21st (23.65).
At under-12, Kelsey Evans and Natalie Bond were joint second with 26.30, with Rohan Maynard fourth on 26.25.
Other competitors to do well in this class were Jessica Gusthart 8th (25.00), Jodie Rebettes 10th (24.80), Natasha Stone 11th (24.15), Kerri Alexander 14th (23.85) and Lucy Cross 17th (23.60).
Deborah Lerner (25.95) was fourth in the 13-plus class with Holly Rawson fifth with 25.80 and Nicola Cooper eighth with 24.80.
