AN Isle of Wight girl who triggered a massive police search when she went missing for two days with her holiday sweetheart has ended the relationship.
Natasha Phillips, 12, dumped her 15-year-old boyfriend Ashley Lamprey by leaving a voicemail message on his mobile phone.
The teenage couple, who met in June while on holiday on the Greek island of Kefalonia, had vowed to stay together and in September they secretly slipped away for two days.
A police search led to them being found in a music store in Milton Keynes, the half-way point between Ashley's home in Ackworth, West Yorkshire, and Natasha's home in Downs View Road, Newport.
Ashley, who was besotted with Natasha, also known as Natasha Morris, was said to be devastated by the break up.
His mother Karen told a national newspaper: "When he got the message he was in such a state he was sent home. He was crying and broken-hearted and when I saw him I just took him in my arms and gave him a cuddle."
Meanwhile Natasha's stepmother Trudy Phillips, 38, said that Natasha was having a few problems at the moment.
"Tash is 13 next month but she is still so young and just finding out about boys and how she feels," she said.
