Hanging baskets were welcoming and its spotless condition made it a pleasant place to wait for a train.
They also said the customer service provided by station supervisor Ian Faletto was excellent, and remarked that customers appreciated personal touches such as
jigsaw puzzles, drinks and seats with cushions in the waiting room.
The station's prize is £1,000 to spend on a piece of equipment or an initiative that will benefit both passengers and staff. All employees will get a £50 Marks & Spencer voucher.
"Mr Faletto deserves it - he's the best chap on the line," said regular passenger Sarah Manthrop, who lives in Sway.
"He's got such a nice manner, and is always so helpful."
