Netley Central Sports striker James Morgan experienced the ups and downs of Hampshire League football at Station Road on Saturday.
Morgan was in seventh heaven after coming on as substitute for Netley's second division game against Ludgershall and scoring with virtually his first touch.
Just five minutes later, though, he was limping off after pulling a calf muscle.
"I think he did it celebrating his goal," said Netley boss Graham Castle with a wry smile.
Netley, with winger Mick Mullins scoring twice, went on to win the game 3-1 to consolidate their lead at the top of the division.
Danny Green netted an 80th-minute consolation.
RS Basingstoke could emerge as Netley's strongest challengers after winning the top six clash against Ordnance Survey 1-0 with Gary Jones getting the all-important goal in the second-half.
Mottisfont, another of the league's new teams, are making steady progress. They maintained their unbeaten league record by beating Otterbourne with a goal from Al Bundy.
Steve Warwick turned from goal-taker to goal-maker with the pass that set up Ashley Howard for Horndean's match-winning goal in their Premier Division summit meeting against East Cowes Vics at Five heads Park.
High-flying VTFC edged home 2-1 against Hythe and Didben, although VT boss Dave Diaper felt the scoreline flattered the Watersiders.
Gary Male gave Vospers a first half lead then missed a penalty before Mike Spinney gave the Boatmen the cushion of a two-goal lead.
Hythe, who have lost midfield player-maker Jimmy Anderson to AFC Totton, got their goal late on.
Andover New Street are still very much in the picture, too, after beating Liss, who were not that long ago in second place.
Wing-back Michael Richmond moved up to bag the all-important goal 25 minutes into the first half. After that New Street created most of the chances with Nick Turpin missing the best of them.
