MORE this week from the Oakridge Hall For All.
The hall is becoming very much part of the Oakridge area and is being used during the day by quite a number of organisations.
I hope that as soon as the regeneration work is completed, the access to the hall will be easier for people in wheelchairs or scooters. I will be keeping an eye on this aspect.
The plans for the computer suite are beginning to come together and it is hoped to start courses there in the new year.
There will be a wide variety of activities, including a homework club, internet access and basic skills training. They will be working in partnership with The Vyne Community School and Queen Mary's College.
The Christmas bazaar at the hall will be on Saturday, November 15, from 2pm to 5pm.
There will be lots of stalls and exciting gifts to buy, and Santa will be in attendance. Everyone is welcome.
Just a reminder of the new groups which have just started. Kung fu is on Monday and Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm, and aerobics is on the same days, from 5.45pm to 6.30pm.
NORN Hill Post Office is closed but the shop and newsagent side of the business will remain open. You can get all your post office needs at the Oakridge Centre post office and newsagent, which has a general store attached to it, or in Vyne Road at the South View Post Office.
THE Motorcycle Maintenance adult education class for beginners starts at The Vyne Community School on Thursday, November 13, from 7pm to 9pm, and the class for making Christmas wreaths and Advent rings is on Wednesday, November 26, from 7pm to 9pm.
For more information about these classes, contact The Vyne community office on 01256 407037.
THE next Norden councillors ward surgery will be on November 15, from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
This is a chance to meet your councillors, a representative from Oakfern and the local police. Why not come along to the Oakridge Methodist Church?
