FRESH from touring the States with former Beatle Ringo Starr, Paul Carrack is on the road with a 33-date UK tour which brings him to Bournemouth this week.
The former Ace, Squeeze and Mike and the Mechanics keyboard player, singer and songwriter will play the Pavilion Theatre on Monday.
With a career spanning more than three decades Carrack has appeared on countless hits and although his voice is instantly recognised the world over, his name and face remain elusive to many.
In the past this self-effacing Yorkshireman has tended to remain in the background only choosing to take the spotlight in more recent years.
As well as contributing lead vocals to Ace's How Long (Has This Been Going On), Mike & The Mechanics' Living Years and Squeeze's Tempted, he has also written numerous hits for other artists including The Eagles, Tom Jones and Diana Ross, and played keyboards with Roxy Music, The Smiths, The Pretenders, Eric Clapton, BB King, Simply Red, Van Morrison and Sir Elton John.
His records are released through his own label, CarrackUK, and he runs his own fan club and website.
10th November, Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth. Performance: 8pm. Tickets: £17.50. Box office: 01202 456456.
