TODAY is the last day to ensure the hero in your life has the recognition they deserve by entering them in the Daily Echo-backed Power FM Local Hero awards.
The nomination forms that have been appearing in the Daily Echo must be returned to the radio station's studios in Segensworth by the end of today to stand a chance of scooping the top local hero award.
This year the gongs up for grabs also include young hero of the year and a business award for firms who have given something back to the community.
Another new category is the special award designed to honour a person who has achieved in any area of life. The awards ceremony, to be staged at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium, will have a celebrity feel as this year's ceremony also includes awards for favourite pop act and best newcomer in the world of entertainment.
Money will also be raised for the radio station's nominated charity Help a Local Child.
Organisers are hoping to raise thousands from a celebrity auction that will form part of the entertainment for the night on November 28.
Return completed forms by today to Hannah Wilding, Power FM, Whittle Avenue, Segensworth, West Fareham, Hants, PO15 5SH or go to www.powerfm.com and fill in a form.
