IT'S up up and away tomorrow night for a spectacular firework display at Southampton's Mayflower Park.

Thousands of people are expected to crowd into the event which is supported by the Daily Echo.

The massive event is being organised by the city's Round Table and should see over £7,000 of fireworks going up in smoke.

The popular annual show is also supported by Wave FM, Pains Fireworks and Williams Shipping.

In addition to the fireworks, a Wave FM roadshow will get the crowds' feet tapping from 6.30pm in the evening.

There will also be funfair rides provided by Coles Funfair. Many local charities are to benefit from the popular event which starts at 7.15pm including "Simon Says", Macmillan Cancer Relief and Southampton General Hospital based Radio Lollipop.

David Rayner, a partner with regional solicitors Blake Lapthorn Linnel is co-ordinating the event on behalf of the city's Round Table.

He said: "Every year, people write into the local papers complaining about fireworks being let off in back gardens and streets and pointing out the dangers associated with bonfire night.

"What could be better, and indeed safer, than coming to a properly organised major event which, thanks to the support of Southampton City Council, is held in Mayflower Park."

He added: "From this safe environment everyone will be able to enjoy a truly spectacular display which will be even more mind blowing than in previous years. At the end of it all, not only do we want to put on a magnificent display for Southampton, we also want to raise money for "Simon Says", Macmillan Cancer Relief, Radio Lollipop and other local charities."

It's £3 for adults and £1 for children. Tickets can be bought in advance from the Daily Echo shop in Hanover Buildings or Southampton City Information in Civic Centre Road.
