Eastleigh Operatic and Musical Society return to the timeless Gilbert and Sullivan classic The Mikado for their autumn show, on now at The Point in Eastleigh.
This show is special to Eoms members, as in February 1937 it was the first that the society ever performed.
"The world may have changed dramatically over the last 66 years but the fun of watching and performing The Mikado remains the same," says publicity officer Pete Woodcock.
Set in the town of Titipu in Japan, the operetta centres around the romance between Nanki-Poo (Richard Chamberlain) and Yum Yum (Carole Lilly) and features well-known G&S classics such as Three Little Maids from School, A Wand'ring Minstrel I and Tit-Willow.
The show is being produced by David Jupp with musical direction by Martin Patterson and spectacular costumes by wardrobe mistress Sue Tatnall.
7th - 8th November, The Point Arts and Dance Centre, Eastleigh. Tickets: from £8. Box office: 023 8065 2333
