A COURIER company has told an Ampfield businessman that it will not deliver to him because his address has the word "farm" in it.
Peter Todd, owner of Computechplus, bought the old farm to run his computer hardware business.
But when he tried to get a package delivered last week he was told no deliveries would be made because his address was Green Lane Farm.
"I thought it was disgraceful that a company could say that. Half the farms are converted to industrial units," Mr Todd said.
"I don't see the issue because there aren't any animals on the farm and any farm that's got foot-and-mouth is closed. If everybody said what they did we'd be in a mess."
He said Business Post told him he had to get the package delivered to another address and sign for it there.
Business Post's Totton branch confirmed it would not deliver to Green Lane Farm and said the decision had been made at head office.
A spokesman at the company's headquarters in Birmingham said he would investigate the claim and try to work out a solution.
