It was back to league action in the HSA Youth League this week.
In the U14s Hatch Warren kept their 100 per cent record with a comfortable 6-1 victory at Upper Clatford, while Vernham moved up one place in the table with a narrow 2-1 win over S Wonston.
In the U13s, RPM moved to within a point of leaders Porton with an 8-1 win over S Wonston, as did Test Valley Lions, who won 20-0 against an under-strength Worthies B, who only had seven players but must be praised for their sporting efforts. Test Valley A and Barton Stacey are still at the bottom after losses against Whitchurch, 13-1, and Worthies A, 11-0, respectively.
In the U12s Salisbury are still 100 per cent after comprehensively beating last week's second-placed team S Wonston 9-0. This allowed Castledown, who beat TV Lions 11-2, to move into second place on goal difference over Broughton, who had a 3-2 victory at Whitchurch. Mid-table Romsey beat second-bottom Lyndhurst 4-1 and U Clatford beat bottom team Durrington 7-1.
Broughton drew 2-2 at U11 division leaders S Wonston, which allowed Porton to close to within a point of the leaders after their 8-1 victory over lowly Clarendon, with Vernham a point further back after they beat Lyndhurst 3-1. U Clatford moved to within three points of the leaders with a 15-0 defeat of bottom team Broughton B.
Clarendon stay a distant second in the U10s after beating Vernham 5-1, and Durrington upset the form book with a 2-1 win over mid-table Romsey. Division two leaders Fordingbridge won 4-0 over lowly S Wonston; meanwhile, in the top tie, second and third-placed teams Whitchurch and TV Lions fought out a hard 1-1 draw. Lyndhurst pulled three points clear of Collingbourne with a 3-0 victory. In the U9s the winter break ended, but there was only one match played this week, in which Clarendon won a close contest 3-2 over Broughton.
