Andover striker Justin Bennett (pictured) will have to wait for another chance to impress at Pompey.
The 20 year old frontman, who notched up his 30th goal of the season against AFC Newbury on Saturday, had been wanted by Portsmouth FC for an under-21 fixture at the weekend - but Lions boss Howard Goddard decided that Andover needed their strongest team against Lymington & New Milton at the Portway on Saturday.
The Andover manager told the Advertiser: "Justin knows his time will come, and we'll be happy to release him for a future game.
"We couldn't do it this time, but he'll be ready for the next time."
Bennett recently spent a successful week training with Pompey.
