Abbotts Ann 25 Two Step 2nd 37

Two Step 2nd Started their game with six players, although they played as fluently as normal.

They sped away in the first quarter, then put Abbotts Ann under more pressure when their missing player arrived, despite the continuing efforts of C Sandy Evans, who played a major part in slowing down the flow in centre court.

Abbotts Ann were given another opportunity to catch up when C Jo Mayle was taken off due to an ankle injury, once again leaving her team under-staffed. But GK Yvonne Daniels played a fantastic game, and prevented GS Alison Needham from receiving the ball. Two Step never really looked in trouble, and deserved this comfortable win.

RPM 37 KJM 38 This had to be the game of the night, as KJM prepared to keep their unbeaten record intact and win their division outright.

They only fielded six players, which gave RPM an opportunity, and the game was tight from start to finish. KJM's C Yvonne Went- worth made up for the absent player, and covered two positions all night. She was greatly helped by the superb defending of GD Nickie Stickley, who double-marked RPM's GS Natalie Shaw to try and prevent her receiving the ball. This left GA Lynne Archer free at the edge of the circle. Young WD Cerrie Perrett was again helping her defence stay tightly together.

This was an exciting, high scoring game, which KJM did brilliantly to win.

KT Preservation 28 Two Step third 31

This was an exceptionally tight game with neither team giving the other an inch.

It was goal for goal almost throughout the game, and while the spectators enjoyed it, the coaches were suffering. KT's combination of GD Sally Jones and C Julie Boddy have a great partnership and understanding which makes it extremely difficult to feed the Two Step shooters, but their work was matched at the other end by GD Tina Piper and WD Jo Flinn.

FM Eclipse 33 SAS 26

SAS came on to court totally motivated and after they grabbed an early lead it didn't look as if anything was going to change.

GA Anna Bowman played her usual excellent game and her partnership with GS Caroline Summers works so well considering it's their first season as a shooting duo. FM Eclipse, though, have been playing some delightful netball, and they made a few changes during the break that did the trick. GD Kathryn Crago marked her partner out of the game and with some brilliant centre court play from Lizzy Randall they shook SAS up.

HSA 20 Broughton 24

This game was based on fine centre court play from both teams.

The HSA sisters Michelle (WA) and (C) Lyndsey work so well together it's as if they plan their game at home, and the understanding shows on court. But Broughton's hard-working duo of WA Ali Dudley and C Jo Collis have been playing together for a few seasons now and have built up their planned moves. They gave a better service to the shooters to get a deserved win.

Harrow Way 32 Niceday 19

This win has been coming for a long time. We all knew the potential was there, and Harrow Way played some delightful netball from start to finish. Their star C Vicky Burgess played to her full and with GS Kerry Taylor on fine form Niceday struggled. GK Tasha Westbury used her great stretch to intercept the feeds, and a fine display from C Laura Foord meant they didn't give in at all. But it was the youngsters' night.
