HINDUS from all over Hampshire gathered to offer food, praise and hymns to their God.
About 250 followers of the Indian religion gathered at the Vedic Temple in Radcliffe Road, Northam, to celebrate their version of the Harvest Festival.
Gathered men and sari-clad women sang thals, or hymns, and spoke verses from the Hindu bible in praise of Lord Swaminarayan.
Representing the Hindu deity were saints Bhaktivallabh Swami and Aksharvirhari Swami, two of 600 worldwide sadus who serve the living idol saint guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj. After the religious part of the ceremony crowds ate the home-cooked offerings brought to the temple.
