THE Basingstoke League carried on with its centenary celebration with a special game against the Hampshire FA under-21 side, which they soundly won 5-0.
The Basingstoke League representative side was made up of a mixtures of players from the Saturday and Sunday Leagues, with New Inn striker Mickey Graham star of the show with a hat-trick.
The opening goal in the contest came after 36 minutes as Graham's 30-yard effort went through the hands of the Brockenhurst 'keeper Scott Jabobs.
In the opening minutes of the second-half, Graham ended the contest with a brace to complete his hat-trick. His first came from a Simon Nellor through-ball and the second was an easy tap in after Nellor and Richard Sygrove combined.
Nellor added a fourth on 59 minutes and it was left to substitute Lee Chambers to complete the scoring by adding goal number five three minutes from time.
After the game, commemorative medals were presented in the Basingstoke Town clubhouse by Barrie Hiscock, the Basingstoke League chairman, to the players in the Basingstoke squad.
Alan Rosekilly, the Hampshire FA county match chairman, similarly rewarded his squad members. John Ward, the Hampshire League chairman, made a presentation to the Basingstoke League to mark the special occasion.
The next event in the centenary celebration calendar is a special dinner to be held at the Apollo Hotel.
