ASIAN officers put on an exotic feast for the senses for fellow workers at South-ampton Customs & Excise when they held a special celebration for the Hindu festival of Divali.
More than 100 staff attended the lunchtime party at Compass House in Romsey Road, Southampton where they were treated to Indian music, food and films. Southampton mayor Parvin Damani also joined in the festivities for the Hindu celebration of light.
Divali is a five-day festival where Hindu homes are thoroughly cleaned and windows are opened to welcome Laksmi, the goddess of wealth.
Customs & Excise manager Dave Mason said: "It was great to share in the culture of our Asian officers and sample some of the food and music they have to celebrate Divali."
