I MENTIONED last week that Sentinel will be having an open day in November, to give people details of phase three of the regeneration and to identify which footpath access will be closed for demolition work.
This is due to take place at the Oakridge Hall For All on a date to be arranged in November.
They have not set a date but said in their newsletter that a notice will be put up in the hall.
This is not good enough because not everyone makes use of the hall. As soon as I am able to get a date and details, I will let you know.
THIS leads me on nicely to tell you what is happening at the Oakridge Hall For All over the next week or so. A Christmas bazaar will be held on November 15, from 2pm to 5pm. There will be lots of stalls and things to buy.
There is a fun session for Tuesday Tots on Tuesdays from 10am to 11.30am, which is for parents/carers and their children during term time only. The leader is Ruth Pink.
Shapes Aerobics takes place on Monday and Wednesday from 5.45pm to 6.30pm. No experience is necessary and beginners are welcome. The cost is £3.50 per session. Contact Jen on 07876 032732 to book a place.
You can also get fit with Bodywise Yoga to increase your muscle tone and suppleness in a relaxing atmosphere with Pete Stanford. He can be contacted on 01256 882058.
Within the Oakridge Hall For All, there is also a range of services provided by the Local Primary Care Trust. On Tuesday, there is a health visitor from 11am until noon.
On Wednesday, WeightWise is from 10am to 11am, and fortnightly Access to Health from 1pm to 2pm.
On Thursday, there is a leg ulcer clinic from 9am to 4pm, and on Friday, a contraception clinic from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
Meanwhile, for information about any of the above, call Julia Roffey on 01256 475844.
WORK is proceeding on clearing the open space in Oakridge Road used by the contractors to dump soil and waste during the building work. It is hoped that this will be completed by the end of the year.
