THEY may not appeal much to the Pop Idol generation, but Status Quo still know how to rock - and are still packing out venues all over the country.
And to prove their popularity, it's standing room only for their concerts at The Anvil, Basingstoke next month.
The veteran entertainers are performing there on November 19 and 20. The November 20 gig is already sold out, but a few standing tickets are left for the previous day's show.
The Quo, fronted by the denim-clad duo of Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, began their British chart career in 1968 with the top ten hit Pictures of Matchstick Men.
They followed it up with 21 more top ten smashes, including Caroline, Whatever You Want, In the Army Now, Rockin' All Over the World and their only number one, 1974's Down Down.
Despite personal traumas for the band - including Parfitt's quadruple heart bypass in 1997 - they have continued to write, record and perform, maintaining their position as one of the country's most popular rock outfits.
Tickets cost £28. Box office: 01256 844244.
