Eastleigh motor cycle road-racing twins Chris and Nick Sansome have just completed another successful season in the MRO Powerbike Series.
Chris took fourth place in the championship behind title winner Lee Dickinson, with Nick in seventh position.
The brothers ride 250 Honda RS machines and Chris landed on the podium four times with a best finish of second at Cadwell Park in July.
With nine top ten finishes he was one of the most consistent riders in the championship along with Nick who had a best fifth place at Lydden among his eight top tens.
The last round at Brands Hatch on Sunday, though, brought disappointment for both riders.
Chris was looking for a high finish to take third place in the championship but the writing was on the wall after a disappointing qualifying session when he put the Honda tenth on the grid, with Nick a further eight places behind him.
Come the race, with Chris needing to make up nine points on the rider in third place, he could only manage sixth so stayed fourth overall. It was an even worse day for Nick who retired after six laps.
It was doubly frustrating for the Sansomes because they were competing for the first time in front of their new sponsors Solent Automation.
Chris and Nick have been backed through the MRO series by SGH Bearings, Fluid System Devices and CDT Haulage as well as friends and family.
They are already planning next season's racing when hopefully they will make a stronger challenge for the championship.
