SURE-SHOTS Colin Monk and Paul Hogan travel north next week to try and bring back the Winmau World Masters title to Hampshire once again.
Basingstoke-based Monk beat all before him in 1996 to secure the Masters' crown, which has been won by all the darting greats since 1974, including Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Phil Taylor and Bob Anderson.
Southampton's Les Wallace also brought the trophy to the south when he beat Alan Warriner in 1998 - two years after winning the Embassy World Darts Championship at Frimley Green.
Current Hampshire champion Monk was invited back as a former winner but Hogan - Hampshire title holder in 2002 - had to battle past quality opposition in the England play-offs for his place.
The competition is from Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2 with five hours broadcast live by BBC over the weekend.
Joining Monk and Hogan will be teenagers Shane Clifft from Southampton and Michael Hammond from Surrey, who will be in the junior competition.
