Jon Barnes is on track to complete a five-man presence on the European Tour in 2004.
The man from Hamble competes in stage two of the qualifying school in Spain on Thursday buoyed by a tremendous performance in stage one last month.
Barnes qualified 12th at Five Lakes despite opening and closing with rounds of 75. In between, he shot 67 and 69 and that's the form he knows he'll need to produce over 72 holes in Spain this week to qualify for Final Tour School on November 7.
The 32-year-old Sandford Springs professional has had a tremendous season on the Hampshire PGA circuit, winning the strokeplay title and topping the order of merit for the fourth time.
With Justin Rose, Matthew Blackey and Martin LeMesurier already assured of a place on the European Tour next year and Richard Bland hoping to win back his card at Tour School, Hampshire could have a strong presence there next year.
