Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure, Reading Town Hall, October 10
DAVE Gorman is a Googlewhacker and boy is he proud of it. At the end of last year, this 32-year-old comedian was certain that he wanted to grow up.
He wanted to move away from the strange quests that had dominated his life and commit the next few months to writing a book.
He even went as far as growing a beard - a sure sign of maturity if ever there was one.
However, his need to be taken slightly more seriously is undermined by his inability to walk away from unusual, but heart-warming, adventures.
Now, for those of you who are uninitiated with the world of the Googlewhack, a short explanation is obviously required.
The aim of the game is simply to type two words into one of the leading internet search engines (Google, hence the name) and come back with one solitary hit from all the billions of pages that have been searched, thus discovering a Googlewhack!
This is a time filler that'll keep your average office worker busy for the odd few minutes here and there. Not Dave Gorman.
As has happened so often over the past few years, he has to take it that little bit further, pledging to meet a sequence of fellow Googlewhackers in order to win a bet.
On stage he takes us around the world through a series of hilarious anecdotes, slides and graphs, meeting a multitude of hilarious and unusual characters.
Gorman holds the audience in the palm of his hand for more than two hours and still leaves them wanting more, long after they've walked out of the door.
An hilarious rollercoaster ride of emotions, The Googlewhack Adventure is a guaranteed evening of quality entertainment.
Just don't mention Texas!
