HALF-TERM is here!
I hope everyone enjoys themselves and stays safe.
Halloween is just around the corner, so to speak. I have never really liked the very North American practice of "trick or treat", but I will have to let my own children knock on a few doors, no doubt.
One way of knowing who is participating (in Canada and the USA) is the illuminating of a pumpkin and placing it on the doorstep or positioning safely in a window.
Once the pumpkin is extinguished, potential "trick or treaters" know not to call at that house. Of course, if no pumpkin is visible, then the house is definitely not open to callers. Perhaps it would be a good idea to adopt that method here.
CIRQUE Surreal is organised for Friday, November 21. This is a fun evening of "who-dun-it".
The cost of £12 includes a three-course dinner. BYOB. To reserve your place, call Pam on 352078 or Lin on 329475.
If you have never attended an event at your local village hall, then perhaps this would be a good time to do so.
The events organised and run by the committee members are always aimed at raising funds to maintain the hall.
We receive no subsidies from anyone and the cost of running the hall is always increasing. So, please do your best to attend. You would be very welcome.
Please call me if you would prefer to go with someone rather than on your own.
