IT'S DAY three of the Human Zoo and the contestants are facing their toughest challenge yet.

The six housemates, who are taking part in Power FM's ten-day Big Brother-style competition, were put in a spin by their latest challenge, which was set live on this morning's Power FM Breakfast Show.

They have to ride an exercise bike all day long. If at any point the wheel stops turning, they will have failed in their task and won't get their reward.

So far the contestants have succeeded in their tasks. On Wednesday they had to write a song about their first day in the zoo, which they performed live on air, and were rewarded with games. Yesterday they had to draw caricatures of each other, which are on display at the zoo - a conservatory complex in Whiteley Village Outlet Shopping - and they were given a CD player for the day.

The housemates have all bonded but their stay hasn't been without it's glitches.

No smoking is allowed in the zoo and two of the contestants - Sarah Hunt and Tim Miller - are having to give up cigarettes, at least while they are in the house.

"We've had problems with members of the public trying to pass them cigarettes through the windows," said Andy Telling, the zookeeper.

The contestants are also having teething troubles getting used to living with each other - which includes sleeping in beds which are pushed up against each other and getting changed in the same room.

The Human Zoo has been drawing big crowds to Whiteley Village and people have already got their favourites but they won't get their chance to vote until Monday, when the first two housemates go up for eviction.
