A GROUP of karate fighters kick-started the first screening of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill at a Southampton cinema.
Members of the Goshin Jutsu Karate and Iaido Club put cinemagoers at Leisure World Odeon at West Quay in the mood for the new action flick with their impressive martial arts display.
Eight members aged between 16 and 30 showed off their moves in self defence and sword work learned at the club classes in Woolston, West End and Botley.
It proved the perfect pre-film entertainment for Kill Bill, which stars Uma Thurman as a sword-wielding assassin.
Pete Molloy, a 21-year-old black belt who teaches Goshin Jutsu karate in West End, said: "We performed some demonstrations that went down well with people going in and coming out of the cinema. We just had to be careful we didn't end up kicking one of them by accident.
"I think it generated some interest and some people wanted to know more about what we do, which is great. It was a good night."
